Holidays in Cornwall: Polduh Cove

Local amenities

Colroger Holiday Cottages is situated in the heart of the village, conveniently located within walking distance of Colroger deli selling cream teas and home-made jams, the Village Restaurant serving fresh fish caught locally, Boots the chemist, Spar and two fantastic pubs. The Mounts Bay provides stunning views over the sea and menus to cater for all in the family. The Old Inn is steeped in history and time must be taken to view the photos dotted around as well as sitting outside soaking in the sun and beautiful Thatched roof.

Our two local beaches are easily accessible by coastal footpaths, with Polurrian approximately one mile away along coastal footpaths and well worth it for the rock pool exploring. Poldhu can either be reached by foot on coastal footpaths or a two minute drive, with a car park, great beach café and toilets. Both beaches have lifeguards with Poldhu running from May to September and Polurrian July to September.

Poldhu beach also offers a surf school for those budding surfer dudes, catering for most ages and abilities. Over-looking the cliffs of Poldhu and Gunwalloe beaches is an 18 hole golf links, situated a mile away from the village and a coastal backdrop, stretching out to Lands’ End, it must be one of the best places to play golf in Cornwall. Mullion Riding Stables, the Chocolate Factory and The National Trust’s Mullion Cove are all within a mile. The beautiful beaches and fishing villages of Coverack, Cagwith, Kennack Sands, Kynance Cove and Gunwallow, as well as the stunning Helford River famous for its oyster beds and St Anthony with its church alongside the beach where one can hire a boat for the day, are all worth a visit.
